Marcelo joins the State Assembly with Christine Lagarde before they hear about the dissolution of Parliament

Next Wednesday, the members of the State Council will hold a double session at Belem Palace. And at two in the afternoon, they will meet, on the initiative of the President of the Republic, with the President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, and soon after five in the evening, another meeting will begin to discuss the proposal of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to dissolve the Council of the Republic after the fall of the state budget.

With the President of the European Central Bank, the international economic situation will be analyzed and this meeting has already been scheduled for some time, as part of the invitations that the current head of state has promoted among his advisers and international figures.

In the second round, the council will consider the president’s proposal to dissolve parliament and call early elections.

On Thursday, the Presidency of the Republic confirmed the timetable for the hearings that will be held in preparation for the early elections.

Tomorrow, Friday, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa welcomes the social partners. At 14:00, the employers’ associations will go to Belem, which will be received together. This will be followed, starting at 17:00, with the CGTP and UGT and at 19:30 the President of the Economic and Social Council.

On Saturday afternoon, it was Marcelo’s turn to listen to the concerts. Sessions begin at 14:00 with the liberal initiative, followed by Chega, the Green Party, PAN, PCP, BE, PSD, and finally at 20:30, the Socialist Party.
