Honor ended up following the latest big trend in the mobile world and announced a model packed with AI features, as Google and Samsung have already done, with the Pixel 8 Pro and Galaxy S24.
The Magic6 Pro becomes the top of the range of the Chinese brand (which officially entered Portugal in 2023) and is distinguished by the fact that it includes the Magic Portal, the embodiment of artificial intelligence capabilities created by Honor.
With the goal of “simplifying complex tasks in one step,” Magic Portal integrates with numerous apps (the brand guarantees there are more than a hundred) — one example is Google Maps, where the AI “quickly recognizes addresses in a text message and automatically directs users to A window containing directions.
One other feature is one we've already seen in Samsung and Google's models: “It facilitates image-based shopping experiences, directing users to platforms where they can find and purchase desired items,” Honor highlights.
In cameras, as expected, there are more features that use artificial intelligence. Here, the brand is talking about the Falcon system with a total of 280 megapixels, including a 180 megapixel telephoto lens, the first of its kind on a smartphone, as highlighted by Honor CEO George Zhao, during the Magic6 Pro presentation in Barcelona.
The highlight is the AI Motion Sensing Capture technology that selects the best image from a series of images taken sequentially (for example, from a sporting activity – one example given was fencing), according to focus and composition criteria. George Zhao said that this is the “first” smartphone equipped for photographing sporting events, with modes for various disciplines, such as “dance and martial arts.”
With a 6.8-inch LTPO display in NanoCrystal Shield glass (the industry's most drop-resistant to date) with 5,000 nits, the Magic6 Pro has a 5,600MHz battery and versions range from 256GB to 1TB; And 12 or 16 GB of memory. In Portugal, pre-sales start on March 1, with this model costing €1,299.90 (Vodafone, NOS, Meo, Fnac, El Corte Inglés).
In addition to the Magic6 Pro, Honor also announced the MagicBook Pro 16 laptop (also with various AI capabilities), the Pad 9 tablet and the Porsche Design version of the foldable Magic V2, which will cost 2,699 euros.
