Macapa Public Schools Students Win Science and Technology Fair in Belem (Pennsylvania) |  Amapa

A project developed by students Maria Isis Palheta and Marina Flor Palheta, both 7 years old, He won first place in the “Children” category. in The 14th Science and Technology Exhibition at Akai Institute (MCTIA), held in Belém, Pará. The idea was developed by students at the municipal school O Pequeno Príncipe, in Macapá.

The project seeks to show the solar system in a simplified way that children can understand. The idea gained popularity due to the use of acai seeds, which gave sensory properties to the work.

“We were pleased to announce the name of our project that won first place in our category,” described Marina Flor.

The work “Astronomy in Early Childhood Education: A Journey Through the Planets of the Solar System” was supervised by Professor Marcelia Lopez and Associate Supervisor Professor Edele Azevedo.

The project has been approved to participate in the International Science Initiative Exhibition and the Santa Catarina Exhibition, both in 2024.

The Instituto Açaí Science and Technology Fair (MCTIA) is an international science event that brings together people of all ages who develop research and projects within the school environment, whether in public or private schools or research institutions, and celebrates innovation and sustainability in education.
