The Legia Warsaw experienced moments of terror, this Sunday, when they watched the bus invaded by fans.
It all happened way back after the defeat at the Wisla Block stronghold, which propelled Yuri Ribeiro, Jose, Andre Martins and Rafael Lopez’s team to last place in the Polish league.
Unhappy with the situation, the extreme fans waited for the team on their return and stopped the bus. They got into the car and attacked some players. According to Polish newspapers, the most affected were the Azeri Maher Emreli and the Brazilian Lokenhas, who played for the Portuguese national team.
Also, according to the Polish press, Emreli contacted lawyers to analyze the possibility of moving forward with a unilateral termination of the contract.
Ligia issued a statement on Monday confirming and condemning the incident. But what also sparked controversy was that no members of the ruling structure were on the bus. A manager explained that the bus was full due to the size of the technical team.
Also on Monday, Warsaw FC announced a change of coach: Marek Golebwski surrendered to Alexander Vukovic, who had previously coached Legia between April 2019 and September 2020.
