The Portuguese stock market closed higher for the third day in a row, in line with other European markets. EDP led the gains, rising 4%, followed by pulp producers.
The Lisbon Stock Exchange closed in the green on Friday, recording the third consecutive session with a positive balance, in line with the rest of European markets. The PSI index advanced 0.79% to 6,227.92 points, with an increase of 11 points and a decrease of five points.
What gave strength to the national index, above all, is the EDP family. The parent company gained 4.07%, reaching 3.602 euros, while EDP Renováveis rose 2.21% to close at 12.95 euros.
On the positive side, pulp producers also emerged. Altri shares rose 2.57% to €5,075, after announcing results yesterday and seeing JB Capital raise its price target. Navigator, which today announced a takeover bid for British company Accrot, advanced 2.44% to 3,954 euros.
BCP rose 0.13% to €0.2984.
On the negative side, Mota Angel shares fell by 3.37% to reach €4.88, while Jeronimo Martinez fell by 1.01% to close at €18.68, the lowest since October 2022.
Putting pressure on the index, Galp – another heavyweight stock – fell 0.89% to 15.06 euros.
