Nvidia has been preparing to launch the RTX 50 for some time now, and the GeForce RTX 5090 should have very powerful specifications, according to tipster Kopite7kimi. The insider revealed on his profile
In terms of specifications, the expected RTX 5090 could hit the market with a GB202-200-A1 chip, which has 170 multi-streaming processors and up to 21,760 CUDA cores, although the fully activated silicon has 24,576 cores. If confirmed, Nvidia's new graphics card could outperform the current RTX 4090 by up to 32%.
However, the biggest difference has to be in the memories. According to the leak, the RTX 5090 will have 32GB of VRAM in the GDDR7 protocol from a 512-bit interface. This brings the total bandwidth of the chip to between 1800 and 2000 TB/s. Moreover, the GPU consumption should be around 600 watts.

The informant also pointed out the technical specifications of the RTX 5080. The model, which is still in the high-end category, will use the GB203 chip in maximum configurations, with 84 multi-stream processors and 10,752 CUDA cores, which represents only 10% more modules than the original RTX 4080.
The memory part doesn't change much with this model, as it will continue with 16GB of VRAM, but now of the GDDR7 type. To achieve this, the chip must operate at a maximum bandwidth of about 1,000 TB/s. In terms of consumption, the RTX 5080 should have a TGP (total graphics power) of 400W, similar to what we see on the RTX 4090.
According to another rumour, this time from Benchlife, Nvidia will unveil the GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 during CES 2025, which will be held in early January. If it comes to fruition, we can expect the models to go on sale between the end of January and mid-February.
