With just a few weeks left until the launch of the new iPhone 16, a leak A post by popular leaker Ice Universe on Chinese social media platform Weibo has revealed a series of details about the iPhone 17 lineup — including the new “Slim” model — which is only expected to arrive in the second half of 2025.
One of the things that attracted the most attention in the content is the information that starting next year, Apple should have a device with the name “Slim” in its smartphone portfolio. According to some information, the devices with the nickname will permanently replace the iPhone Plus devices, which the company has reportedly been planning to retire for some time.
The “Slim” variant, according to the leak, will be the most expensive device in the line and should hit the market at a cost of around $ 1,299, or about R$ 7,240 in direct conversion. The brand's future device should have a 6.65-inch screen and feature an A19 chip with 8 GB of RAM. Internal storage should reach 512 GB.
However, rumors about the price should be viewed with extreme caution. This is because the device with lower-end hardware than the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max is unlikely to be the most expensive in the lineup. It is also important to highlight that this is not the first leak about the iPhone Slim, which means that Apple may be preparing to launch a replacement.
iPhone 17 Pro with a powerful chip
The iPhone 17 Pro, in turn, should be the most powerful version in the lineup. According to Ice Universe, the device will come with the A19 Pro chip, a component that will be manufactured using the N3P process, from TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), the world's largest chipmaker.
According to available information, the performance of the more expensive iPhones should be raised to a higher level. The new processor promises to deliver significantly higher performance than the current A17 Pro processor found in the “Pro” and “Pro Max” variants of the iPhone 15.
iPhone SE 4 with OLED display?
According to rumors, the fourth-generation iPhone SE could come with an OLED display, just like the more expensive versions of the iPhone 17. In other words, the display technology could raise the bar for the device, and thus its final price.
