US actor and two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey has been formally charged with four counts of sexual assault in the UK, the Royal Prosecution Service (CPS), the equivalent in England and Wales, confirmed to the Attorney General’s Office on Thursday. Portugal.

A second man alleges that he was sexually assaulted in August 2008 and forced to engage in sexual activity without his consent.

The third complaint is from a man who said he was sexually assaulted in April 2013 in Gloucestershire.

It is reported that authorities in London were investigating allegations related to the period from 2004 to 2015, when Kevin Spacey was artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre, which he has always vehemently denied.

In the wake of the scandal with producer Harvey Weinstein in October 2017, which would lead to the emergence of the #MeToo movement, Kevin Spacey became one of the first American public figures to be accused of sexual harassment.

A CNN report revealed that he created a “toxic” environment due to inappropriate comments and harassment of young employees on “House the Cards,” in which he was the protagonist and executive producer. Later, other allegations of sexual assault surfaced in the United States and London.

He was fired from the series “House of Cards”, in which he played an unscrupulous politician, and was also fired from Ridley Scott’s “All the Money in the World” to be replaced by Christopher Plummer.

In November 2017, Old Vic said it had received separate complaints about allegations of inappropriate behavior by the actor from 20 men who had contact with him at or in connection with the theater between 1995 and 2013.

So far, Kevin Spacey has avoided criminal charges.

Although he was formally charged in January 2019 with sexual assault of a teenager, in July of that year authorities dropped the charges, in a case weakened by the alleged victim himself, after a cell phone with the alleged evidence disappeared.

In October of the same year, a secret settlement dropped another indictment.
