Will BTS join the army soon?

Judging by the success of BTS, many pop stars from Europe or the US can easily back up. But even the South Korean boy band should not have extra sausage in their country. Therefore, members of the committee may soon be called up for military service.

Internationally acclaimed bands of the “gay-pop” genre. For example, seven members of the South Korean boy band BTS fill huge halls during their guest appearances in Germany. But soon the team will face a forced break.

The reason is speculation that pop stars cannot avoid bad military service in their homeland. These are fed by statements made by South Korean Ambassador to Great Britain Gun Kim in an interview with the “Sunday Times”.

“Korean youth are expected to serve the country, and BTS members are role models for many young Koreans,” the ambassador was quoted as saying. He was “sure” that the singers would “fulfill their duty to the community.”

Gin “ready”

In South Korea, you will be called up for military service between the ages of 18 and 28 and must have served at least 18 months. The December 2020 law makes it possible for top artists working in the field of popular culture and the arts to defer their military service. However, they must have started it on their 30th birthday. Jin, a senior BTS member, turns 30 in December.

Last year, business analyst Yu Chung Mann predicted that BTS singers would be listed “before the middle of 2022”. Compulsory military service is expected to end all together. According to Yu Chung Mann, all seven members will retire from music.

At a news conference on military service in February 2020, Jin already said: “No decision has been made yet,” he added: “I believe military service is part of my duty, and I am prepared to accept it if the country exists.” He believes that if that really happens, “I will show my best to everyone.”
