Itatiaia reaches 70% of the public vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19

According to the latest survey, so far 16802 people (71.34%) have been vaccinated with the first dose and 6746 (28.64%) with the second and single dose, the target audience for vaccination in Itatia is 23,552 people. Taking into account the total population of the municipality estimated at 32,064 residents, the campaign has already reached 52.40% with the first dose and 21.03% with the two doses.

Currently, City Hall is vaccinating residents, by age, at Municipal Polyclinic, downtown. The immunization sector forecasts until August 13, covering all residents over the age of 18. Immunization coordinator Andrea Mellin highlights the importance of the population taking the second dose of the vaccine.

– We remind you that it is necessary for the resident to complete the vaccination schedule, and search for the municipal library located in front of the dispensary in the center to get the second dose of his vaccine. The second dose guarantees the expected effectiveness of the vaccines. CoronaVac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines that are part of the National Immunization Program (PNI) need the two doses, at different intervals. He explained that when an individual does not complete the course of the vaccine, i.e. does not take the two recommended doses, does not get the expected vaccination and is more susceptible to infection.

Abstract in August

On August 16, 17, 19 and 20, the Ministry of Health will conduct a summary of immunization against COVID-19 for residents who missed the first dose of the vaccine. On the 16th and 17th (Monday and Tuesday), the population over 40 years old can be vaccinated, and on the 19th and 20th (Thursday and Friday), it will be the turn of the population under 39 years old. Women must attend from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and men from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The abstract will be carried out at the municipal clinic, on Avenida dos Expedicionarios, in the centre. Those who will receive the vaccine must provide an original identification proof with photo, CPF number, SUS card, proof of residency and vaccination card (if applicable).
