Israel bombs Lebanon – Full-scale war is getting closer than ever – NRK Urix – Foreign News & Documentaries

On Thursday evening, Norwegian time, Israel bombed new targets in Lebanon. The Israeli army, the Israel Defense Forces, signed them. X.

Within two hours, several hundred rocket launchers were said to have been hit. Reuters news agency reported that this was “the most intensive attack on Lebanon” since the outbreak of the Gaza war.

The new Israeli attacks come after thousands of Hezbollah members' pagers and portable radios were blown up earlier this week.

Nearly 40 people were confirmed killed and about 3,000 others injured in the attacks, which many believe were an Israeli intelligence operation.

The pagers that exploded are linked to a company owned by a Norwegian citizen.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said when he addressed his supporters on Thursday afternoon that Israel had now crossed the red line.

Promise to continue

Nasrallah described the Israeli attacks via pagers and other means of communication as a pure massacre. He promised revenge for what happened.

At the same time, he admitted that the attack was a serious blow to Hezbollah.

– Nasrallah said: We will continue fighting until the war in Gaza ends, referring to the Israeli military operation in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

A company in Hungary pretended to produce pagers, and Hezbollah is said to have ordered 5,000 of them.

What they didn't know was that Israel was behind the company. They had hidden explosives in the pagers and sent them to Lebanon.

Hezbollah knew nothing about Israel's involvement and used the equipment.

Seconds after Israel pressed the button, the bomb exploded across Lebanon. Many were killed and many wounded, adults and children alike.

As Nasrallah spoke, residents of the Lebanese capital Beirut could hear the sound of Israeli fighter jets breaking the sound barrier, according to Reuters.

Since the Gaza war broke out on October 7, Hezbollah has attacked Israel several times with rockets and drones. Israel has responded by bombing targets in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, more than 40,000 people have been killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks, according to Palestinian health authorities.

Tens of thousands have been evacuated.

Israel confirms its attacks in Lebanon:

“Our goal is to ensure that the citizens of northern Israel can safely return to their homes,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said in a statement, referring to the thousands of Israelis displaced by Hezbollah attacks.

According to Israel, about 60,000 Israelis were evacuated from their homes.
