iOS 17, Apple’s operating system, promises to bring several tweaks to the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The new version will change the location of the End Call button: it will now be in the lower right corner of the screen instead of centered.
In the middle part of the screen, Apple will place the button that allows you to switch the call to FaceTime and the button to open the dial pad.
In iOS 16 and earlier, the iPhone call end button was located at the bottom of the call interface. Above it were two separate rows of buttons for things like mute, keyboard, FaceTime, volume controls, and more.
In iOS 17, Apple overhauled this interface to shift everything to the lower third of the screen. This means that the Exit button has been mixed in with the other volume buttons, FaceTime, mute, add calls and number pad. The Exit button is no longer isolated, it’s centered at the bottom of the screen. Instead, it is located in the lower right corner of the interface.
One of the biggest new features is something called Contact Posters, which show full-screen photos of the person you’re talking to on the phone. To view the full screen image and artwork, Apple has moved the buttons down. This is true even if the person you’re talking to doesn’t have the contact setup.
Ratings
The new version of iOS was made available in beta to developers and ended up being leaked to social networks. The change sparked controversy on social media between users who approved and those who declined the updates.
A user posted on his X platform (formerly Twitter) account that he’s using the new version of iOS on his Apple Watch and considers the new update “annoying.”
On the other hand, one of the profiles rated the mod positively and rated it “a very cool update,” he wrote.
Other modifications that the new version of iOS will allow the user are the transcription of voice messages, the allocation of calls from one iPhone to another, and the “Did you arrive well?” , which notifies an emergency contact when you have reached your destination. Like your home, for example.
The company announced that iOS 17 will finally reach consumers in September. The new system will be compatible with iPhone XS and later. Older device models such as 1st generation X, 8, 7, 6 and SE cannot be updated.
