Igor Tudor will be the new coach of OM

Pablo Longoria didn’t take long to recognize George Samboli’s successor. A day after the tumultuous Argentine coach’s sudden exit, OM’s president completed his replacement on the bench in Marseille.

As we revealed on Friday, his priority is Croatian Igor Tudor and this file will succeed. According to Information from Provence, we can confirm, both parties have agreed on a two-year contract and the technician is expected at the command on Monday. He will then meet his team and perhaps be introduced to the press.

Tudor is OM’s ninth coach in the last ten years

The former Juventus Turin defender (44) left Hellas Verona at the end of the season, after finishing ninth in Serie A in impressive style. His profile was preferred by Longoria to that of Marcelino, whom he worked with at Valencia, or Shaktior Donetsk coach Roberto de Jerpi.

Tudor began his career as head coach at Hajduk Split in 2013. Since then, he has worked as an assistant defensive specialist at PAOK Salonika, Karabakhspor, Galatasaray, Udinese and Juventus Turin. He will be OM’s ninth coach, not counting the interim, since the departure of Didier Deschamps ten years ago.
