Grujic and meeting with Pepe in Portugal and Serbia: there were some ‘mouths…’ ″

Grujic is eager to face Pepe in the decisive match between Portugal and Serbia, in the final round of qualifying for the World Cup 2022.

In the run-up to Sunday’s ‘final’ against Portugal, Serbia plays on Thursday in a friendly match against Qatar which has been completely underestimated by coach Dragan Stojkovic and Marko Grujic.

Pointing out the title in a second-filled eleven, Porto midfielder Grujic forgot the Cataris team and jumped straight to the analysis of the fencing against the national team. “Portugal has a very strong squad, with most of the players playing for major clubs. It is a great motivation to fight with them to qualify and we want to show that we can handle the best,” Grujic said, adding that he expected the opponent waiting for him. From “revenge” for canceling Ronaldo’s bad goal in the match that was held in Belgrade.

Serbian newspaper Zornal reports that the Dragon player has also admitted to exchanging some hilarious provocations with his colleague Pepe. He concluded, “There were some ‘mouths’, despite the difficult sequence of matches for the championship and champions. The Portuguese understand the importance of this match and may be under a little pressure.”

In line with Grujic, coach Dragan Stojkovic has been more forceful about what it is today. “I don’t care if my players don’t show up for a position tomorrow [hoje]. We’re actually in Belgrade, but the head is in Lisbon. The match against Qatar is not relevant and will, only, be good training,” he shot the coach, revealing that he does not believe in a trip to Portugal in Dublin: “We will pay attention to what happens, but I do not expect anything special from this game.”
