New York (Dagbladet): Trump and his cronies pressed local election authorities hard after their 2020 election defeat.
Despite countless recounts, investigations and tours of the legal machine, nothing has been found to suggest widespread electoral fraud. However, Trump and his people continued to claim it without any documents.
He recommends prosecution of perjury
Georgia is one of the states Trump narrowly lost. On January 2nd, Trump called the state’s interior secretary, Brad Ravensburgh. The conversation was recorded and leaked to The Washington Post. In the conversation, Republican Trump demanded that Raffensperger “find” 11,780 votes. That’s one more vote than Trump has lost. The call sparked a criminal investigation into Trump and his supporters. In recent months, a grand jury has heard the prosecution’s evidence.
Not a short list
Now, grand jury foreman Emily Kohrs, 30, told The New York Times that they have recommended a wide range of indictments in the case.
It’s not a short list, says Kohrs.
However, she will not name the people she wants to prosecute because the judge in the case decided to keep this out of the public eye.
However, the special grand jury does not have the opportunity to issue indictments. Now, instead, State’s Attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, Fanny T. Willis, will decide which potential indictments to take to a regular grand jury.

– You won’t be shocked. Cohrs says when asked by The New York Times if they recommended that Trump should be impeached.
Last week, some small parts of the jury report were made public. There they say they saw possible evidence that “one or more” of the witnesses had lied to them.
– Tasty
– There will be no giant plot. You probably have a pretty good idea of what’s in this report. I try very hard to say this in a precise way, says Kohrs.
Trump himself famously called the phone call “the perfect phone call.” He denies doing anything wrong, calling the whole thing a witch hunt.
– We definitely started with our first phone call with Raffensperger, which became very public, says Kohrs.
At the same time, she confirms that they also went through other events in the aftermath of the 2020 elections.
Many witnesses
Among other things, the jury heard the testimony of 75 witnesses. Some of them are high profile Trump supporters like Senator Lindsey Graham and Attorney Rudy Giuliani. Others are representatives of local unions. Several witnesses are said to have come to testify after they had already entered into immunity agreements with the prosecution, he writes. AP.
Refused to answer 400 times
Trump’s lawyers said he was never asked to testify. Cohrs says the jury wanted to hear from him, but they didn’t think he would give meaningful testimony.
– Trump was a battle we chose not to fight, she told the news agency.
The Atlanta investigation is seen as one of the biggest legal threats to Trump, which is surrounded by investigations and lawsuits.
In January, among other things, the Manhattan state’s attorney also began presenting evidence to another grand jury that will evaluate whether Trump should be indicted for paying bribes to a porn star during the 2016 campaign.
At the same time, Trump announced that he was again trying to become the Republican presidential candidate.
