Google releases Privacy Sandbox on Android 13 in 2023

Google has confirmed that it will launch the new Privacy Sandbox platform for a limited number of devices, based on Android 13, starting in early 2023. This was an action that the company had been anticipating for some time, but that at the beginning of next year it will begin to reach more users.

The Privacy protection This is a suite of Google technologies, revealed in February this year, focused on limiting users’ ability to be tracked within the system. This provides tools and services capable of giving more control over user data within the Android ecosystem – something similar to what Apple is already doing on iOS.

The idea, according to the company, is to start providing the Privacy Sandbox Beta to Android 13 users starting next year. Initially, this offer will be limited to some users and devices, but it is expected that it will eventually reach more users in general.

Application developers are advised to update their applications to integrate with the new APIs, while also helping Google move to the next delivery phase.

It should be noted that not everyone is skilled in these new technologies. DuckDuckGo has already revealed in the past that the Privacy Sandbox is just a new way for Google to have more control over user data and how it is collected, without guaranteeing more privacy to end users.

Meanwhile, Brave notes that this system ultimately offers a little privacy, continuing to focus on the idea that Google has more control over the centrality of user data and how it is collected.
