Google, Mozilla and Apple are working on new standards for browsers

Google, Mozilla and Apple are working together to create a new way to measure the performance of browsers to market, with an industry-wide benchmark test.

according to Companies advertisement, the new “Speedometer 3” will be a benchmark that will be adopted to measure the performance of browsers, based on current times. This tool will be used as a way to measure the performance and response time of browsers using the latest internet technology, and provide users with a viable means to check which is the fastest browser on the market.

Currently on the browser benchmarking market, the tools available for the task are somewhat outdated, and not properly adapted to the current Internet. The standard so far is Speedometer 2, but this is pretty outdated and was developed mostly for Apple’s WebKit.

The idea in Speedometer 3 is to create a new testing platform that, in addition to being compatible with existing browsers, can provide more relevant results for each browser.

At the moment, Speedometer 3 is still in a very early stage of development, and the page itself is in the works Github project Indicates that it is under active development. However, it would certainly be nice to see the project kick off with the support of the three biggest companies responsible for the most used browsers on the market.
