Google makes its most expensive smartphone of 2021 officially

Google has officially announced the Pixel 5a 5G, its 2021 mid-range smartphone that will also be its cheapest lineup. The new terminal is clearly inspired by the Pixel 2020 models, as it combines some of its best features.

With this arrival, Google is back to bet on the mid-market segment that it has succeeded in and has received, year after year, praise, thanks to the above-average imaging capabilities of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 4a.

Pixel 5a 5G: real arguments for the mid-range

If in other years we saw Google somewhat conservative in its mid-range proposals, with smartphones that, despite their good quality, were not ignored by the numbers, despite their relatively high price, what is certain is that Google does Here is a real attack on the market.

The Pixel 5a 5G is a very all-in-one smartphone, combining the best of both the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a XL, with just two pieces, which we’ll talk about later. Thus, the design of this smartphone is a perfect combination of the two 2020 terminals, with a design practically identical to both, in the dimensions of the Pixel 4a XL and the superior aluminum construction of the Pixel 5.

The Pixel 5a 5G has the same smooth coating as aluminum and a very attractive new color called Mostly Black. This is not a “mostly black” color, as it is possible to indicate a shade of green, which is reminiscent of the British color. green race.

The specifications of the Pixel 5a 5G remain essentially the same as the Pixel 4a 5G, as the new smartphone has a 6.34-inch OLED display, with a resolution of Full HD + and maintaining a refresh rate of 60Hz. Inside, we have the same Snapdragon 765G, accompanied by 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of storage (individual configuration).

Interestingly, with the new Pixel 5a 5G, Google has been more generous with the battery, making better use of the space to include a unit with a maximum capacity of 4,680mAh. This is the largest battery that has ever been equipped in a Google smartphone, which should guarantee autonomy for two days of use. However, charging is still at 18W.

The camera separation also remained unchanged from its predecessor, with the Google Pixel 5a 5G hitting the market with a main sensor of 12 MP (f / 1.7 aperture) and a wide angle of 16 MP (f / 2.2 aperture), while on the front the 8 MP camera also remained.

While many details match the aforementioned smartphones, the Pixel 5a 5G turns out to be a great proposition, with stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio input jack (even including the biggest battery ever in a Google smartphone). Note that this is the only smartphone in the segment to come with a fingerprint reader on the back in 2021.
