Fuel prices will rise again next week

And as far as SIC has learned, next week will bring a new increase in fuel prices, with the biggest increase per liter of diesel.

Next week, the price of diesel is expected to rise by five cents per liter. Gasoline should rise by 2.5 cents per liter.

This morning, the price of Crude Oil is slightly lower with each barrel trading at $106.

This expected increase for the last week of April follows the trend this week and contrasts with the beginning of the month, where the two weeks witnessed a decline in prices.

A government approved proposal to reduce prices

Parliament on Friday approved the government’s proposal providing for measures to contain the increase in energy and agricultural food prices, which include suspending minimum tax rates on petroleum products (ISP).

The suggestion was PS, PSD, IL, BE and Livre’s sole deputy vote, with Chega, PCP and PAN abstaining.

Among other measures, the The government initiative provides for the suspension of minimum ISP minimum rates, applicable to diesel and unleaded petrol, specifying that this can be fixed “with a minimum of €0”..

The goal is for this tax to have an effect equivalent to what would result in the reduction of the value-added tax on fuel to a rate of 13%.
