From humans to dogs. World’s Best Robotics Conference – Science and Health

At the World Robotics Congress in Beijing, China, the latest innovations in robotics were unveiled. The global event, which took place from August 16th to 22nd, saw around 600 automated products from more than 160 companies. China is focused on technological innovation and the country’s president, Xi Jinping, wants to focus on the high-tech industry.

Industrial robots used in new vehicle production, logistics and raw material processing were presented, as well as realistic robots with artificial skin and equipped with artificial intelligence. Robotic “dogs” walking on four legs and robots intended for the hotel and restaurant industry were also on display, along with agile robotic arms with multiple joints for use in factories.

The biggest attraction at the event was the moving heads and humanoid robots on display in the stands up From EXRobots, a company dedicated to developing reliable robots and robotic solutions for harsh environments. These humans wave to visitors, imitating and performing human expressions.

This company is betting on a realistic image of a human being, with artificial skin, facial expressions, moving arms and hands. These jobs are ideal for jobs that require interaction with the public, such as those performed in museums, tourist attractions, school environments, and people-monitoring, executive director Li Boyang told the Associated Press.

CyberOne, the human being developed by Xiaomi, was also introduced. The humanoid is equipped with an artificial intelligence interaction algorithm that allows it to perceive three-dimensional space and recognize individuals, gestures, and expressions. According to the company, the robot can also recognize 85 environmental sounds and 45 emotions.

At the conference, a robot “French artist” wearing a hat and mustache was seen drawing pictures of the people around him.

Another major attraction at the event was robot dogs. Created by Unitree Robotics at the conference, the Go2 model was able to stand on two legs and run to greet its owner like a real dog.

And in the field of sports, a robot capable of throwing basketball baskets was demonstrated. For services, there are already robots serving ice cream to children, tea to adults, picking apples and also giving massages to visitors.

The World Robotics Congress has been organized by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the China Association for Science and Technology since 2015. The event brings together experts from all over the world and attracts companies from around the world that present the latest scientific and technological achievements.
