Former Canadian Olympic skier Ryan Wedding is wanted by the FBI for allegedly ordering the killings of three people and leading a drug trafficking network, based in Canada, that has already smuggled tons of Colombian cocaine from Mexico to the United States. According to BBCThe 43-year-old former athlete, who competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics, allegedly ordered the killing of an innocent Ontario couple, who were killed in a case of mistaken identity in 2023.
Authorities also allege that Ryan, Andrew Clark, his “right-hand man” and other members of the network, were recently responsible for several shootings in Peel Region, a Toronto municipality.
The FBI and Canadian Mounted Police believe the man has sought refuge in Mexico, and are offering a reward of up to $50,000 (46,043 euros) to anyone who finds him. But they warned he may be armed and should be “considered dangerous”.
Ryan Wedding and his alleged accomplices “unleashed a torrent of violent crimes, including brutal murders,” said Matthew Allen, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Agency in Los Angeles, USA.
Ryan Wedding, whose nicknames are “El Jefe” (Portuguese “The Boss”), “Giant” (Portuguese “Giant”) and “Public Enemy” (Portuguese “Public Enemy”), is charged with eight counts of crimes including drug trafficking, three counts of murder and attempted Kill one.
