The first rumors about Google's next foldable phone have already begun to spread, but now YouTuber TT Technology has gone further and created a video with the first renders of the Pixel Fold 2. We can see the model in 3D, but we must realize that this is a representation based on rumors. Everything can still change.
The first difference compared to its predecessor is the design of the rear camera module. The Pixel Fold 2 may feature a rectangular island instead of the previous model's bar, which is a feature of the Pixel models.
As you can see in the video, the images released now show that the sensors are housed in a pill-shaped cutout, and the corners are also square-shaped.
Rumors suggest that the model will feature a quad-camera configuration that will integrate an ultra-wide-angle primary sensor and a telephoto sensor. Regarding the fourth sensor, there are speculations that it could be a periscope or an infrared sensor.
Tensor processor could impact Pixel Fold 2 release date
As for the technical specifications of the Pixel Fold 2, little information has been released so far. But it is known that the brand's Tensor processor could affect the launch date of the device on the market.
If Google decides to introduce the new foldable device at this year's I/O event, the model may arrive equipped with the Tensor G3 chip, which was introduced last year with the Pixel 8 series of smartphones.
But if the research giant wants to integrate its latest processor, the Tensor G4, into the new foldable device, the Pixel Fold 2 will not be launched until October this year.
For now, this is the information available, but more information will likely be revealed over the next few months, as is usual with Google's line of devices.
