DrFollowing the news of the death of Matthew Perry, the famous character of Chandler from the series Friends, fans gathered near the apartment used for the exterior filming of the series, in New York, in the United States, to pay their last respects.

“The one where we all lost a friend [Aquele em que todos perdemos um amigo, na tradução livre]”, reads one of the posters left at the scene, with a nod to the way the episodes were named.

She left other messages, such as: “We will never know what Chandler’s job is, but we all know how much happiness being in his company has brought us,” another message said, referring to her character’s unknown job.

The actor died on Saturday at the age of 54 at his home in Los Angeles, California. He died after drowning in a bathtub. Although there are no signs of foul play, the case is under investigation.

An inspector confirmed to the Associated Press news agency that agents were called to the home “to investigate the death of a man in his 50s.”

In addition to paying tributes in the North American city, many celebrities reacted to the actor’s death. From Adele to Morgan Freeman, even in Portugal, Nuno Markle or Teresa Guilherme, many mourned Perry’s departure.

The family also “broke their silence” regarding the actor’s death, admitting they were “devastated by the tragic loss” and thanking all the “love” shown.
