Yesterday, thousands of fans, friends of artists and family members bid farewell to Brazilian singer Marilia Mendonca, who died in a plane crash while traveling to attend a concert in Minas Gerais.
The funeral of the artist, as well as that of her uncle and advisor Abecile Silveira, took place this Saturday, just one day after the tragic accident, and was marked by tears and emotion.
Funeral ceremonies were initially reserved for friends and family only. Among them was the father of Marilia’s son, Murillo Hoff, who remained as long as possible by the coffin, visibly annoyed.
However, the Goiânia Arena pavilion, where the singer’s body was found, was open to the public during the afternoon, with long queues beginning to go into the early hours of the morning.
From the pavilion, the 26-year-old artist’s body went in procession to her final address, Parque Memorial de Goiânia, for a ceremony dedicated to people close to her.
It must be remembered that in addition to Marilia and her uncle, Henrique Bahia, pilot Geraldo Medeiros and co-driver Tarciso Pessoa Viana died in the accident.
