The international consortium responsible for the European Space Agency (ESA) Ariel mission will meet in Lisbon, at the Knowledge Pavilion – Centro Ciência Viva and at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. From October 28 to 30, several well-known scientists and engineers in the field of exoplanet exploration, including Ariel mission director Giovanna Tinetti, will meet to discuss the features and importance of this mission.
On October 30, Wednesday, there will be a session open to the public, with Broadcast onlineAnd about the outer planets, the Ariel mission, and Portugal’s participation in this mission. The session will be held in the Knowledge Pavilion from 2:30 pm and, in addition to speakers' interventions, will include demonstrations and hands-on activities. The last minute is dedicated to handing over certificates to the students who participated in the “Exoplanets by Byte” hackathon, who tested the artificial intelligence (AI) tool for studying exoplanets developed by ML Analytics, the company co-organizing the consortium meeting. This tool will be available for other educational initiatives internationally.
