Leonino knows Diogo Almeida, goalkeeper of Sporting’s youth teams, should not stay at Alvalade next season.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper was on loan at 1.º de November, and although he had a good season, he is authorized to look for a new club in 2023/24.
The international from under-15 to under-18 for Portugal, the goalkeeper, who came to be present at the European Under-17 Championship for the national team, is out of space in Alvalade and does not enter the accounts of the green and white coaches.
Despite having a contract with Sporting until 2024, SAD Leonina intends to sell the player already in this market window and even admits to releasing the player at no cost.
In 2021/22, Diogo Almeida did not play a match for the Lions, so moving to the Sintra City crest was the solution the athlete found to play regularly.
The goalkeeper has played in 29 of the 32 matches played by 1.º de Novembro, having helped the club secure promotion to Liga 3.
At Sporting since 2015, Diogo Almeida, who was called up to train with the main team by Rubén Amorim, has an open path to search for a new club to pursue his career.
