Euro 2024: Germany and Switzerland know when to play, and Hungary is waiting

Published on

It came to an end unsuitable for those with heart failure, but the first group of Euro 2024 is already closed. Germany ranked first with seven points, followed by Switzerland with five points, while Hungary came in third place with three points. Scotland leaves the competition with only one point.

Teams are now starting to envision the path they will have to follow in the European Championship from now on.

Immediately, the hosts already know that they will face the runners-up of Group C, on June 29, at Signal Iduna Park, in Dortmund, at 8 p.m. Therefore, Germany's opponent in the Round of 16 could be England, Denmark, Slovenia or Serbia.

It is important to note that the Germans have put themselves on the same path as Portugal and could face Quinas in the semi-finals.

In turn, Switzerland will face the second-placed team in Group B, also on the 29th, in Berlin, at five in the evening. Spain has already secured first place, so the Swiss's opponent will be decided between Italy, Albania or Croatia.

Finally, Hungary is waiting with bated breath. Despite the wild celebrations, the Hungarians still don't know if they will go on to Euro 2024. The Hungarian team can only wait in Germany to see what the other teams will do and whether they will finish in the top four teams in third place.

If this happens, Hungary may face Portugal on July 1 in Frankfurt. However, they can also face the top team in Group B (Spain) or the winner of Group E (Romania, Belgium, Slovakia or Ukraine).
