He highlights, “We cannot be left out of events like this, with a strong presence of urban audiences, so that we can reinforce the importance of Embrapa’s role in Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.” The children’s audience, present in large numbers at the event, showed interest in the topics presented at the pavilion, such as Edamame, a variety of botanical soybean developed by Embrapa and introduced by Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos researcher, Ilana Filberg. The book “Brazil in 50 Foods”, launched in April, on the occasion of Embrapa’s anniversaries, attracted strong interest not only from children, but also from parents and adults present, who were able to download the publication for free from the Embrapa portal by response code quick. “We’re proud of public companies like Embrapa, everyone needs to know the work they do in the country. I was so happy to see them here. Congratulations on the work you do!” enthused William Cruz, of the Museum of Life in Fiocruz, when visiting the booth. “Sunday with Science on Thursday” included more than 160 activities, organized by the SBPC (Brazilian Association for the Advancement of Science), the Network for the Promotion of Science and Technology in Latin America and the Caribbean (RedPOP) and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), with the support of the City of Rio de Janeiro.
