On Sunday, Special Counsel Jack Smith reportedly notified Trump that he is a target of a Justice Department investigation into attempts to alter the 2020 election.

The letter is a strong hint that Trump could be charged in the case, something he himself also wrote in a post on his own social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday.

There he wrote that such a letter “always means arrest and trial.”

So far, the former president has not been charged in this particular case, but in his appearance on the “Simon Conway Show,” the case has become a topic, according to reports. CNN. There he was asked about his message to his supporters if he was imprisoned before such a trial.

The potential indictment in the Jan. 6 case would add to the fact that he was indicted on 37 counts of refusing to turn over government papers he took with him when he left the White House and 34 counts of primarily account fraud, in connection with the Stormy Daniels case.

Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Trump if he was upset about the investigations during a rally in Iowa earlier this week.
