The Campo Murau region recorded 46 new cases of dengue this week, bringing to nearly 400 confirmations – 386 in all. Data are from the Epidemiological Report of Arboviruses, issued by the State Department of Health (Sesa). The figures refer to the current epidemic period, which began on July 31, 2022 and will end in 40 days.
Comcam contains 3,184 notifications and 845 possible cases of illness. Goioerê is the city with the most confirmations: 88, followed by Campo Mourão (63), Janiópolis (32) and Moreira Sales (30). All 25 cities covered by the 11th regional health edition have confirmed cases.

In addition, Kumkam municipalities add up to 6 cases of chikungunya, which is also transmitted by Aedes aegypti, and 1 case was confirmed in Campo-Mourao, Louisiana (1), Gouwere (1) and Uberata (3). There are still suspected cases in Ararona (2), Campo Murao (7); Joywire (1); Louisiana (1) and Operata (7).
This week, Parana has recorded 6,771 new cases of dengue fever, 10 deaths from the disease and 7,818 notifications. The state’s total number of dengue confirmations is 100,686 deaths and 316,031 notifications. According to the bulletin, 362 municipalities have confirmed cases of infection, and 63,569 cases are still under investigation. The 10 deaths reported in this week’s bulletin occurred between March and May in six municipalities of Paraná.
They include four residents of Foz do Iguaçu (two women, ages 47 to 26, and two men, ages 35 to 61); three people residing on the coast of the state (a 66-year-old man from Jaratuba, another man and a woman, between the ages of 30 and 73, both from Pontal do Paraná); a 79-year-old man from Cavazal do Sul; an 81-year-old man from Faxinal; and a 62-year-old woman from Jandaia do Sul. Of the ten people who died, eight developed comorbidities.
The bulletin also includes case numbers for chikungunya and Zika, both of which are transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, like dengue. During this period there were no confirmed cases of Zika. Panorama of Chikungunya in Paraná reveals 3,344 notifications, 635 confirmed cases of the disease, 518 of which are indigenous, and three deaths.
Sesa also published an entomology report, the third of the year, with information on the prevailing infection rate and deposits of the vector. From April 15 to June 16, out of the 399 municipalities of Paraná, 30 are classified as at risk of an epidemic; 163 alert and 114 satisfactory for the IPP (Building Injury Index). Others did not send information or conduct monitoring. In the region, there are three municipalities at high risk of an epidemic or outbreak of the disease: Llanópolis, Yoranda and Quinta do Sul.
