The player enjoys conditional release after being sentenced to four and a half years in prison in Spain.
UOL in Brazil reports that Dani Alves will return to the courtroom, now in his homeland. Awaiting parole to resolve appeals filed in Spain, after being sentenced in Barcelona to four and a half years in prison for rape, the Brazilian player was accused of inappropriately appropriating a song written by two composers from two countries.
The topic of discussion is the topic entitled “Avião” launched by Defense in 2020 as part of the UN campaign against disinformation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Giuliano Mateus and his son Thiago Mateus say they were the authors of the song, which they presented to Dani Alves at a meeting in Italy in 2017.
In that meeting, the Brazilian defender showed interest in entering the world of music, and even suggested, according to the accusation, some verses that Giuliano accepted. But commercial disputes ended up preventing the song's release.
In 2020, Dani Alves released a music video for the song in the UN project – in which several Brazilian artists participated – leading to a legal complaint by the composers in 2021: “He fraudulently excluded the names of the real creators. In other words, in a campaign against Fake news, the United Nations used a work of false composition!”, he accused the composers.
