Culture and Science Day is celebrated on Sunday 5

Science and Culture Day will be celebrated next Sunday (5), which he established Law No. 5579 issued on May 15, 1970. The date honors the birthday of Chancellor Roy Barbosa, who was born on November 5, 1849, and in this way, the goal is to disseminate his work, as well as the work of other professionals in the area and school work throughout the country.

The Legislative Assembly of Sergipe (ALICE) has joined this celebration through laws that value cultural, educational and tourism work in the state. The program and council were formalized, as well as the site and event being recognized as state heritage.

a Law No. 2770 of December 22, 1989, reorganizes the State Council of Culture. The authority’s mission is to evaluate the annual cultural work programs of the State Secretariat for Culture and Environment, as well as to participate in the events that promote them, among other things.

a Law No. 9088 of August 23, 2022, creates a register of cultural assets of an intangible nature that constitute the historical and cultural heritage of the State of Sergipe and the State Program of Intangible Heritage. actually Law No. 9,071, dated July 6, 2022“The Crab” is declared the intangible cultural heritage of Sergipe.

Alice also agreed to Law No. 9,077 of July 6, 2022, which declares “Forró Caju” as an intangible cultural heritage of the state. This event is held annually in June in the capital, Aracaju.
