Petropolis – This Tuesday (9) the Ministry of Health of Petropolis established a measure of health promotion, through rapid tests and vaccination against COVID-19, at the bus station in the center. Services such as measuring blood pressure and blood glucose, as well as rapid tests to detect hepatitis, syphilis and HIV were also provided.

Teams from the Ministry of Health instructed residents about the importance of oral health care, as well as monitoring in the Health Network to control diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and other chronic diseases.

“It is an important awareness and prevention work being done by the Ministry of Health teams, which now includes vaccination against COVID-19. It is an initiative that adds to other measures so that we can increasingly facilitate people’s access to the vaccine, and thus, we can access an increasing number of vaccinated Petropolitans,” It also features Mayor Hingo Hams.

“When we bring teams to the bus station and serve long hours, the goal is to make it easier for people to access services, including vaccination against COVID. This allows people, for example, when returning from work, to get services,” explains Health Minister Aloysio Barbosa da Silva Filho.

The inclusion of the COVID-19 vaccine in health promotion measures is part of the Ministry of Health’s actions to encourage vaccination in the city. The Ministry of Health is also actively searching for unvaccinated people in the communities.

As of last Monday (8), 244,279 people have been immunized against the disease in Petropolis with at least one dose of the vaccine and 186,019 people have completed the vaccination schedule with the second dose or one dose of the vaccine. The data correspond, respectively, to 91.51% and 68.68% of the vaccinated population – people over 12 years of age.
