Sporting was fined 12,161 euros, following the Alvalade derby with Porto, in the 14th round of the league, which ended with a 2-0 victory.
According to the sanctions map issued by the Disciplinary Council (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), the Lions will have to pay a fine of 9,560 euros related to the use of explosive or pyrotechnic devices by fans. Incorrect public behaviour, such as throwing a plastic bottle (nasal spray) and chanting at Porto fans, also resulted in a fine of €1,326. Furthermore, Sporting were fined €1,275 for allowing the entry of large banners from Juventude Leonina.
On the other hand, Porto was fined 8,290 euros, including 4,080 euros for the team’s delay in starting the two halves of the match.
The Dragons were also fined €3,190 for using explosive or pyrotechnic devices and €1,020 for improper public behaviour.
The CD also states that it is “awaiting clarification” on the dispute between Sergio Conceição and Hugo Viana. A heated argument took place between the Porto coach and the sporting director of Sporting Club, and they were dismissed by some members of the two teams shortly after the final whistle.
