Call of Duty: Original Warzone is officially coming to a close

The original Call of Duty: Warzone, which in the meantime has become known as “Warzone Caldera,” will officially end on September 21st.

Activision Certain announced that the game would shut down its online activities from that day forward, with teams focusing on the new gameplay experience, currently known as Warzone (originally as Warzone 2.0).

All progress players have made in the game on the selected closing date will be removed, however any purchases made within Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard will still be available.

Remember, Warzone was released in 2020, with two game modes: battle royale and loot, on a map that allowed up to 150 players at the same time. At the time, the title broke success records, with over 30 million active players in less than ten days after launch.

In the meantime, the game has been rebranded as Call of Duty: Warzone Caledera, after its last update in 2021 with the new map, and Warzone 2.0 is expected to arrive in November 2022. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has also been rebranded as Warzone – confusingly, But it’s Activision’s changes to the game.

However, this measure doesn’t seem to satisfy all users, in part because Activision still supports titles like Black Ops 4, which have active servers despite being older – although they will eventually be shut down.
