California citizens can buy this electric car for $8,000

Although it is not widely available in the US state, a set of incentives allows California citizens to purchase a new Chevrolet Bolt electric car for a modest amount of $8,000. “arranjinho” is worth Portuguese.

Over time, the electric car catalog will take shape, increasingly bringing together alternatives for all tastes and budgets. Although there are buyers for the top models, not everyone wants a dream car and is just looking for a capable and durable vehicle.

As InsideEVs points out, in a nod to the US reality, few electric models come close to the Chevy Bolt EV and EUV, with prices starting at $26,500 and $27,800, respectively.

Despite being the standard model for many price-conscious buyers for several years, the Bolt was discontinued last year. After this decision, only a few thousand units remained available.

The Chevrolet Bolt can be purchased at a very low price thanks to incentives

According to calculations EVLifeCalifornia residents who meet specific income, residency and vehicle ownership requirements can take advantage of a range of state and federal incentives to get a new Chevrolet Bolt EV for just $8,000 or a Chevrolet Bolt EUV for just $9,300.

First, Chevrolet vehicles are once again eligible for a $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit following the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.

And then the program Clean cars 4 all California's governor says if you have an internal combustion engine vehicle (2005 or older), you can upgrade to a new battery electric or hybrid electric and earn up to $9,500. This, which is the biggest incentive, depends on income and residency requirements.

The third and last is Consumer assistance program, which offers vehicle renewal assistance of up to $1,500 to buyers with an older operating vehicle that qualifies for renewal. Again, eligibility for the maximum benefit depends on income levels.

Although they're not as widely available now that they've been discontinued, the three programs combined result in a Chevrolet Bolt EV being purchased for a real bargain in California.
