Argentine actress Silvina Luna, 43, died Thursday this week from long-term complications after a buttock lift in 2011.
This was confirmed by its spokesperson Fernando Borlando to the local media in Argentina, incl Buenos Aires Herald.
Luna had a so-called “Brazilian butt lift” in 2011, but afterward faced major health challenges.
– Fight for life
And on Thursday this week, her brother Ezequiel Luna chose to take her off a ventilator, according to local media.
Luna has been in hospital in Buenos Aires for the past four months, where she received treatment for, among other things, a kidney disease.
Spokesperson Fernando Borlando described the death as a tragic loss and said the 43-year-old fought for his life.
– This is an end like pain and wounds. “I hope her fight serves as a wake-up call for the authorities, so that society can open its eyes and we can avoid more deaths,” he added in a statement.
The surgeon who performed the operation was convicted of illegally treating another woman who underwent a similar operation and later died, according to the Buenos Aires Herald.
He is no longer allowed to practice surgery, but he has not yet been imprisoned.

Silvina Luna became a familiar face when she participated in the Argentine version of the scandalous reality show “Big Brother” in 2001.
She later trained as an actress and was seen in a number of film and theatrical productions. She has also worked as a TV presenter.

In 2022, she participated in another reality show, but during the recording she witnessed her health condition deteriorating, which required emergency hospital treatment.
It was said that the actress’s condition had worsened in recent days after she contracted a bacterial infection.
The 43-year-old will now undergo an autopsy.
