On November 10 and 11, the 7th edition of the BSides Conference will be held in Lisbon, dedicated to information security. This is the expected post-pandemic return for the main conference on Information Security and Cyber Security in Portugal.
The event will take place in the auditorium of the Faculty of Dentistry and allow 600 people to participate for a day and a half of immersion in the topic with discussions, presentations, workshops, CTF competition and lots of interaction between participants, speakers and sponsors.
Bruno Morrison, who is in charge of the organization, says, “The Lisbon Conference remains true to the principles of BSides conferences: from community to community, knowledge sharing, learning, and networking in an immersive and intimate environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and collaboration.”
From the start, BSides’ goals have been to share technical information related to information security issues, through a process of selecting conversations involving many professionals in the area; Communication between participants in order to promote a sense of community among people who dedicate themselves to these themes in Portugal; Contribute to the knowledge of national professionals by providing a space that allows communication with other facts, as well as with the people who make up these facts.
This year’s guest keynote speakers are Marie Moe and Elisa Constante, who are both well-known for their contributions to information security and cybersecurity.
Jorge Pinto, co-organizer of BSIdesLisbon, highlights the following: “Another key component of conference success is the intimate atmosphere generated during the conference.
