Brutal police video: – I don’t fight!

A video clip from the body camera has been kept secret for more than two years. The video shows a Louisiana State Police officer hitting a man 18 times with a flashlight.

writes AP, who gained access to the video in question.

The police officer described the attack as a means of control. According to the Associated Press, he must have intentionally hidden the video.

– I always thought I was going to die that night. “I don’t want anyone to go through that,” Bowman, a tearful, told the Associated Press.

Unknown video

Recordings of the May 2019 incident show, among other things, Aaron Larry Bowman lying on the ground with his hands behind his head, while being beaten with a flashlight.

– I do not oppose. I don’t object, Bowman shouted.

The blows fractured his jaw, three ribs, a broken wrist, and injured his head.

That night, Bowman was stopped at a traffic control point. After physically removing him from the car and hitting him, he tried to make it clear that he had done nothing wrong.

– I’m not fighting you, you’re fighting me.

Bowman’s defense attorney, Keith Whedon, said he was initially told there was no video on the body. Investigators believe the policeman deliberately mislabeled the video clip, and thus it was hidden for more than two years.

major investigation

Less than three weeks ago, police officers from the same area beat up another dark-skinned motorist. His name was Ronald Green, and he died in police custody on the side of a country road in northeastern Louisiana.

The Associated Press also obtained a video of Greene’s death that was published earlier this year.

The attorney general is now investigating the Bowman and Greene cases, which are part of a larger investigation into police brutality.

State Police did not investigate the Bowman attack until 536 days after it happened – despite it being captured with a body camera, writes ap.

The cop who beat Bowman is now charged with brutality against three black men. The news agency reported that he says he beat Bowman to handcuff him.

The policeman did not respond to AP inquiries.
