The Ministry of Health is implementing, as of Saturday (19), measures to combat mosquitoes Aedes aegypti Supported by drones from the Military Fire Brigade of the Federal District. The aircraft takes pictures of the properties, looking for areas where there is accumulation of water or objects that could serve as breeding grounds for transmitters of dengue, Zika and chikungunya.
“We have seen that the predominance of sediment is no longer at ground level, but in the air, such as water tanks, panels, etc. After positioning, teams go to homes to talk with residents and, if necessary, apply insecticides where mosquitoes are prevalent.
Lieutenant Ribeiro, of the Fire Department, highlighted interagency integration to combat the spread of Aedes aegypti. “We have been working for more than five years in support of environmental monitoring. Our firefighters are very experienced.” The presence of the army on the ground also enhances societal cooperation. “Residents have a very good acceptance,” the official said.
Work began on Thursday (17) and is one of the works of the Public Security City Project, which was developed by the Secretariat of Public Security (SSO-DF) in partnership with other departments in the district administration. At the multi-sport gym in Santa Maria, services are being provided to the community, including guidance from the Department of Health on combating dengue mosquitoes.
