BMW has created smart glasses to use when driving a motorcycle

In an increasingly digital world, brands strive to provide their customers with the best tools and the best products. BMW seems to have taken this concept to an extreme and now has smart glasses to be worn when riding a motorcycle.

BMW Motorrad is known for being a highly innovative and highly dynamic brand. She always has ultra-modern solutions that break down the barriers that many insist on keeping for their clients and for those who work with brands or with ideas.

In line with this innovation, a new product is now emerging and is already on the market. We are talking about smart glasses that can be used to display information about the trip or about the BMW motorcycle that the user is riding.

This is the HUD (head-up display) system, which displays information such as speed, gear or navigation instructions. They have a similar design to other sunglasses and connect via Bluetooth to your smartphone to get the information displayed. It allows you to extract GPS data, as well as alerts about speed cameras or speed limits.

For navigation directions, you can choose between arrows or full navigation with street names and intersections. The idea is that all of this data is projected onto the glasses and you don't have to look down. The optical projection unit is located inside, above the right lens.

Regarding the battery, the glasses promise up to 10 hours of autonomy with a charging time of about 2 hours, directly from the motorcycle via USB using its charging cable. BMW states that it can be used with a motorcycle helmet. For those who require optical adjustments, these glasses can be adjusted by up to 4.5 diopters.
