Erwin says she actually started noticing symptoms of the disease when she was 14 years old. She underwent several examinations and blood tests, but the doctors couldn’t figure out what caused it.

– I was in pain every day, she reveals.

When a doctor finally told her that “it’s just part of being a woman,” she gave up.

For a decade she lived with what she describes as “unbearable pain”. When she gives birth to her daughter, Grace, in 2021, the pain intensifies.

– My pain was out of this world. I remember countless times having to crawl into Grace’s bed when she needed me. I remember lying on the floor in so much pain when I was with her.
