BH will get vaccinated against Covid-19 and influenza starting Monday - Horizontes

The Covid-19 vaccination campaign will continue in Belo Horizonte for groups aged 64 and over. The vaccination for this age group began on Friday (9) and will continue from Monday. The flu vaccination will start tomorrow, too.

On Saturday (10) a vaccine was allocated in the capital Minas Gerais for the elderly who need to take the second dose. Only elderly people were vaccinated in the group between the ages of 76 and 75 who had taken the first dose of their immune system until March 27. Capital health centers and additional centers operate from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while command points operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

According to Epidemiological and Aid data, more than 393,000 Belo Horizonte residents have been treated with the first dose, among health professionals, seniors over the age of 64, residents and employees of blanket housing. Of these groups, 119,000 received reinforcements.

Starting Monday, BH starts vaccination against influenza. The goal is to vaccinate at least 90% of the target audience in the first phase of the campaign. Children from 6 months of age, pregnant women, mothers and health workers should be vaccinated.

The priority category was determined according to the directives of the Ministry of Health, as there are 86.8 thousand units in the capital, and Bosnia and Herzegovina has not yet received a new shipment from the national portfolio in a staggered manner. “With the receipt of new doses, Belo Horizonte will expand the groups to be vaccinated, while respecting this time period,” explained the Undersecretary for Health Promotion and Surveillance, Fabiano Pimenta.
