On Friday, Benfica won the UEFA Women's Futsal Champions League (an unofficial competition), defeating the Italian women's Bitonto C5 on penalties (5-4), after a 1-1 (1-1) draw during the regulatory period.
The Italian side took the lead in the fourth minute of the match through Castagnaro, an advantage that, although brief, took them to the end of the first half. The equalizer came in the 30th minute, 10 minutes before the end, by Enes Fernandes.
In the penalty shootout, the Eagles were more effective (5-4), thus celebrating the club's first European title in women's futsal.
Meanwhile, Rui Costa congratulated the champions on their title: “I want to express my great pride to the women's futsal team for winning the Women's European Championship, which was held this week in Spain.
