The Reds beat Levante na Luz of Spain

Benfica qualified for the AFC Futsal Champions League quarter-finals after their 3-2 victory over Spain’s Levante in Pavelhao da Luz, and President Rui Costa was watching. The draw has even served the Reds since the neighboring country’s team won only one of the two matches they played, unlike the Eagles who beat the Hungarians from Haladas and the Ukrainians from Uragan Ivano-Frankivsk. Pulpis’ men started winning four minutes later on Fede’s goal. Then, in the 23rd minute, Ivan Chichkala and Diego Roncalio extended the scoreboard for the Portuguese, who played at home in their third matches. Arrassa (25) and Rafa Yusin (26) even reduced the goals, but the goals were not enough to make the Spanish team happy. This time around, Benfica will try to strive for glory in the best club competition they won in 2010. Altogether, this is Club da Luz’s fifth participation in the final stage of the competition.

Sporting is the Champions League winner. The Lions can also guarantee this Sunday the passport to the quarter-finals if, at least, they draw with the Russians in Sinara Yekaterinburg in the Joao Rocha stand.
