Intense, good and wonderful advertisement for the sport. She was Game. A week after the championship game, now in the WSE Champions League, Oliverense and Benfica met again. Red showed more effectiveness, organization and coolness, but Oliverence left an excellent image. The 2-5 victory for the Eagles saw the Reds stay top of the group, ahead of Oliverense, Calafell and Deportivo Liceu.

The game has two distinct parts: one that is highly respected, on both sides, and the other that is filled with a lot of imagination. Oliverense’s team, who hadn’t beaten the Eagles this season, started with a different dynamic: they kept their balance in the back row and attacked with confidence. Paulo Pereira’s team did not allow Benfica to pick up the pace.

Oliverense’s strategy meant Benfica had more difficulty in the opening minutes and as they were more relaxed, the Aveiro region group managed to get the advantage through Lucas Martinez. Putting Benfica in danger, the locals added good moves, but the Eagles were very confident in defense and gradually grew stronger in the match, thanks to the depth and intensity that Nuno Resende’s team presented in the match. The Eagles finished the first half over trade unionistsbut unable to register.

Ten minutes to refresh ideas

Nuno Resende took notes during the first half and in the dressing room, he was sure to change the way Benfica played. The people from Lisbon seemed to know exactly how to change the course of the game.

The beginning of the second half was great for fans of an amazing and even lopsided match. There were goals, excellent plays, a lot of toughness in attack and little in defence.

Benfica overturned the score, and Oliverense continued to equalize with two goals, but the ball went to the center of the field and Roberto Di Benedetto again put the Reds in front of the match. This goal was essential for the Eagles, who calmed down, came to the fore, and managed to consolidate the victory with two more goals, already in the last minutes.

The two teams are just a few gaps above their more direct competitors in this group and the odds are that they both managed to qualify for the Final Eight of the competition. In the next round there is a new meeting between the two teams, this time in Lisbon.
