Benfica beat Estoril 4-1 at the Antonio Coimbra da Mota stadium on Friday, reaching 6 points in two rounds of the BPI League.
The Reds opened the scoring in the ninth minute through Martin Prieto – the Spanish striker got to the ball first after Andriana Rocha parried Chandra Davidson's shot – but Estoril made good use of the attacking shift and managed to reach the equaliser near the end of the first half through Sara Brazil (42) who scored a wonderful goal from outside the area.
Benfica had some difficulty in gaining the upper hand, but in the final phase of the match they increased their attacking flow and managed to score three goals. In the 78th minute, after a cross from the left by Nicol, Daniela Silva put the ball into her own net, and five minutes later, Martin Prieto (83') scored two wonderful goals after another cross from the Brazilian striker. Christie Ochebe ruled the game in the 86th minute after an assist from Lais Araujo.
Benfica visit Sweden on Wednesday (September 8) to face Hammarby in the second qualifying round of the Women's Champions League.
