Ball – Vitor Pereira criticizes the players: “We played with a full stomach” (Corinthians)

Following Corinthians’ defeat (0-2) against Atletico Guyanens, in the early hours of Thursday, in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final, Vitor Pereira criticized his players.

“For me, the explanation for this defeat is very simple. I saw a team that fights in every duel, plays with a knife in their teeth, their teeth…. Victory in Mineirao [frente ao Atlético Mineiro para o Brasileirão] It didn’t hurt us. We played on a full stomach. “We don’t fight for every ball, we always arrive late,” said the Portuguese coach.

The coach mentioned what should be changed in the second leg: “In the second match we have to play like Atletico Guyanens who played here, the knife in our teeth and our foot. We have to be aggressive with every ball, and play it as if it were the last. This game should be a lesson.”

In the defeat to Atlético Guyanens, the debut of midfielder Fausto Vera was a consolidation for the club. Leadership announced on Tuesday.

“He is a good player and he is fast paced. Come and bring more quality to the team. And we, as I said, have to improve. I will not talk from the offensive or defensive point of view, we have to improve the situation”, Vitor Pereira commented.

The second leg of the Brazilian Cup quarter-final is scheduled to take place on August 17, at the New Coimica Arena, where Corinthians need to win three goals to advance in the Copa del Rey.
