Ball – The new MLS anti-gambling fight rule (US)

MLS Next Pro announced Thursday that new rules will apply in the next round of the Reserve League.

One of the new rules is aimed at combating anti-gambling. If a player is on the ground for more than 15 seconds, the medical team is authorized to enter the field and provide assistance. After leaving the four lines, the same player will have to wait three minutes to re-enter. However, there are exceptions such as blows to the head, heart problems, or serious injuries.

“The new rule will increase playing time and reduce the possibility for players to feign injuries,” MLS Next Pro wrote in a statement.

In addition to this procedure, there will be a new procedure related to expulsion. When a football player is penalized for a suspension game, after seeing a red card, he must comply with the penalty against the same team that he faced, either in the second round or the following season. If the player in question moves to the team against which he sees red, the penalty game will be played in the first official match of the following season.
