Sebastian Coates is not among the options available in the match against Gil Vicente. The confirmation came by Robin Amorim during a preview of Sunday’s game, at Alvalade, for the 32nd round of the league.
“It wouldn’t be Coates. I was in doubt and we thought it was better not to have Coates. We need to have the team max against an opponent who is very fast in the way they’re going, and without Coates in the best of circumstances we’d have a problem with the team and he could exacerbate the injury. “We have other players ready to go in,” said the Sporting coach of the Uruguayan defender, who missed recent training due to muscle fatigue.
Regarding Gil Vicente, he reinforced the warnings: “Even in the last matches he didn’t win, he deserved to win. They’ve had a lot of quality this year, they’ve grown a lot and they have a great 4x3x3 team, they’ve done very well and with good defensive transmission and possession. The coach (Ricardo Soares) had an impact on the team. It’s a tough match between two teams who are still scoring goals this season, despite the moments, we also experienced two defeats that are hard to absorb. Two teams will try to win, that’s what we will try to do.”
